I coughed up a thick chunky pile of blood i assume off the back of my throat. now my throat is extra sore. what is it? and how do i fix it?

Prb. blod mix w mucs: Probably bec of yr cold you have a lot of mucus there and with a hard enough cough you could have busted a blood vessel causing some leakage and mixing with mucus and generating a big glop of bloody mush. With enough coughing, it will hurt. Tincture of Thyme, sorry tincture of Time will fix it! Time heals all things. Mild pain killers, Tylenol, NOT Ibuprofen, which interferes with clotting.

Hemoptysis: Bronchitis is an inflammation of the bronchial tubes that carry air to and from the lungs. Acute bronchitis is the most common cause of hemoptysis - coughing up blood in small amounts mixed with sputum in a young adult female like you. Are you a smoker? I notice you are on the antibiotic macrobid prescribed to treat UTI's. Coughing bright red blood is a serious sign! Seek ER or UC evaluation.
