Have chronic constipation. dr wants me to try linzess but i would prefer phillips non stimulant laxative twice a week. is it safe to use regularly?

Yes: Depending on the severity of your symptoms, the impact on your quality of life and appropriate work up (colonoscopy, systemic diseases), linzess can be used for constipation predominant IBS. It is okay to use a laxative twice per week instead, however. The particular one you mentioned has magnesium in it. Other options are miralax, dulcolax and senna.
