Yes: The drops are a temporary way to dilate the iris so that more of the eye's structures can be examined.The effect disappears after the drug leaves the system and everything returns to normal.This can be done as needed but with caution.The eyes are dilated so wide that they cannot "close" the iris to reduce excessive light which would cause discomfort.
