A member asked:

I have a whitish exudate with a chalky feeling in the way back of my throat. no fever or illness.

Needs evaluation: This could be thrush - a fungal infection of the mouth. Usually it doesn't hurt, but can look unsightly. Also, there doesn't have to be fever. I would get a doctor to look at it for you. Risks to thrush include recent antibiotics, pregnancy, inhaled steroids (for asthma) or some weakness of the immune system including diabetes, lupus and HIV. The treatment is easy, but I wonder 'why' you have it.
