Penicillin Allergy: Symptoms in penicillin allergy include rash, hives, swelling of lips and tongue. The symptoms you are describing are non-allergy side effects. Abdominal cramping , pain and gas are not uncommon side effects of taking penicillin and other antibiotics.

Can an allergic reaction to penicillin also cause stomach cramps and sickness as well as hives (I have both). I stopped the 10 day course on Friday.
For the last three nights I've been waking up between 4 and 5 AM with severe cramps in my lower abdomen/intestinal area. I have some gas but passing it does not relieve the pain, nor does having a bowel movement. OTC meds no help.
