Centipede sting: Sting area should be rinsed with cool water. Most reactions are within 48 hours of bite. Symptoms include severe pain, itching and burning at bite site, headache, nausea/vomiting and racing pulse. She should be checked out by a physician.

Get it checked : Please get it examined by a doctor. There is a chance she may need a tetanus booster if she is not protected. There is always a risk of associated infection as well which your doctor can rule out after an examination. This can potentially be covered under ACC

Clean + monitor: In New Zealand, centipede's are not poisonous. There is a small risk of tetanus if she is not immunised. However the main risk is for a skin infection 2ndry to the bite, although this is also pretty unlikely. Clean the site well with running water + soap and keen a eye on it for redness, increasing pain or pus.

Keep an eye on it: Usually won't cause any problem. In the event that is red around the bite area or she is unwell with fevers should get examined by Doctor to exclude bite reaction or infection. Otherwise if no redness and well then can just keep an eye on it. All the best
