Bumpy cartilage: The cartilage surface of joints can become bumpy. When those bumps slide against another, they make a grinding sensation. It doesn't mean there is anything abnormal. Most people have it, worse as they age.

Not to worry: If there is no pain involved then I would not be concerned. Many folks have "crunchy" joints at times when they move. If no pain and otherwise able to function normally I would not be concerned. Hope this helps. Thanks for using Healthtap. Dr R
