Not deep blood clot: Blood clots in the leg can happen in the veins on the surface of the leg or deep in the leg. The ones that happen on the surface don't need any treatment. You can usually feel the rope of the vein. The deep vein clots can't be seen from the surface. You feel pain and have swelling deep in the calf. To my disdain women bruise easily and often have bruises appear when they remember no injury.

More likely trauma: If you have local tenderness (pain) over spot and purplish it's more likely a bruise from trauma that you were unaware of. Maybe happened during sleep? If it persists or enlarges, see your doctor.
