Take them together: You can take ibuprofen and tramadol at the same time. They work through different mechanisms. Tramadol is a narcotic medicine. Usually you want to limit the frequency of taking a medicine like that, as it is addicting. So most doctors would recommend that you take the ibuprofen and wait 2 hours. If your pain is tolerable, you can do without the tramadol.

Their modes of: action are different you may take them together, but you cannot take the tramadol as frequently as the ibuprofen
