Hernia: If the lump comes when you sit up (increased abdominal pressure) and goes when you lay down( decrease abdominal pressure). Then it is probably an inguinal hernia. This hernia should be repaired as it can turn to a very serious situation if it gets incarcerated. Comes out and you can't put it back in. If that was to happen, then you should come to the emergency room immediately
