Expedited partner Rx: Treating partners without seeing them is called expedited partner therapy (EPT). It's always best for partners to be examined & tested, but EPT is recommended when the partner cannot or will not do so. Many but not all doctors do it. EPT is illegal in a few states (but OK in Tenn). It's especially important your partner be seen in person if s/he has STD symptoms (discharge etc). Ask your doctor.
