I have been taking doxycycline for 5 days but i felt burning and itching on my face. is there any consequences if i stopped taking doxycyline ? thanks

Photosensitivity?: Doxycycline can cause a side effect called photosensitivity, which can cause symptoms like these; it's basically a sunburn-like effect if exposed to light, especially sunlight. Stop taking doxy and immediately contact the doctor who prescribed it. Depending on the reason you're taking it, she may prescribe a different antibiotic; or perhaps continue doxy but use a strong sunblock cream.
