Can the flow rate on a iv line cause atrial fribulation, which in turn weaken the heart muscle, create clots and flood the lungs.

IV fluid: Fluid is given through an "IV" (a little tube inserted into a vein) for many reasons: to treat dehydration, to give medicines, & to maintain fluid balance when patients aren't drinking. In some patients if too much fluid is given too quickly it can cause problems including with the lungs.
