How long?: If these symptoms started less than 2 weeks ago, it is likely from the lingering viral infection ongoing in the community. I usually see this infection in patients who have been exposed to young children. If this has been going on for more than a mouth. see doctor to rule out a sinus infection,

Viral URTI: This sounds like an upper respiratory tract infection or sinusitis commonly caused by viruses. Fevers, chills, nasal congestion, increased sensitivity are are typical symptoms of the common cold. If the symptoms persist for more than a week or if the symptoms worsen rather than improve over time, you need to see your GP to rule out a bacterial cause of the infection.

Viral infection: You're describing symptoms of an upper respiratory tract infection. The vast majority of these are caused by viral infections or by minor bacterial infections that don't require antibiotics. Try using over the counter or pharmacy-issued decongestants + pain relief medications for symptom control. This should resolve on it's own over 5-10 days.

Upper resp infection: Sounds like you have a "cold". Frequently accompanied by body aches and pains, stuffy nose, phlegm, etc. When you lay down in bed the nasal mucus drips to the back of your throat and irritates the "J" receptors which make U cough more at night, frequently assoc. with a tickling sensation at back of throat. Get a scrip for Benzonatate from your doc to stop the cough, 200mg q 8h
