A member asked:

Intermittent abdominal pain with lots of gas, cramping, sometimes aching pain in rectum before and after bowel movements several months at least?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Gastroenterologist: After 4 months of symptoms I recommend that you consult a gastroenterologist for diagnosis and treatment. Possibilities include irritable bowel syndrome, lactose or gluten intolerance or inflammatory bowel disease. Appropriate tests will be done and dietary instructions will be given.
