A doctor has provided 1 answer

Synthroid if...: With negative anti-thyroid antibodies , you've likely had subacute thyroiditis, which returns to a normal state in the majority of patients. It is common to have initial hyperthyroidism for 1-3 months followed by hypothyroidism before return to normal. If TSH does not normalize, and symptoms of hypothyroidism develop, your doctor will recommend hormone replacement.
