Not C diff yet: To have soft stools only a few days into the course of antibiotics and then to have those stools regress back to formed stool, I do not suspect C. diff yet. I would expect C. diff to start a bit later, perhaps 5-7 days or more into the course of medication. My guess is that you are having a direct antibiotic side effect. Of course, if symptoms continue or worsen, check with your doctor.
