Likely need Antibio: 29y/o female asks, Cut on ankle after beach Tender to touch/flex ankle; red around the edges. Not Hot. Safe to treat at home? been 6 days. Thanks. Probably safe to treat at home but need some help. Redness suggest inflammation/possible infection/cellulitis. Warm moist compress X 5-10 mins 2 or 3X daily and resting ankle can help but likely need Antibiotics to resolve well. See MD for eval.
