Blocked: If you have any nasal congestion the eustachian tubes in the back of your nose may be blocked by mucus. This causes a blocked feeling in your ear. Irrigating the nasal passages gently with warm salt water usually helps. With severe congestion, nasal sprays like neosynephrine or afrin can be used temporarily. See your physician if symptoms persist or pain occurs or for wax removal if needed.
