Is there another antibiotic equivalent to flagyl? i have had some pretty overwhelming side effects to it before. my dentist didnt seem concerned.

Dentist should know: of some acceptable alternative. Just say you can not take Flagyl due to side effects. You certainly shouldn't drink alcohol while taking it.

Possibly other meds : Flagyl is a potent antibiotic. It is not commonly used for most dental infections. It can be an alternative especially for an allergy to penicillin or other antibiotics. Most antibiotics have numerous side effects. Flagyl is particularly troublesome with any alcoholic beverages. You should talk directly with dentist about your apprehensions.
