Any child who has : Infrequent, large stools should be evaluated & treated aggressively for chronic constipation, as it can lead to diverticulosis, diverticulitis & other medical problems in later adulthood. Possible causes are side effects of risperdal, Intuniv & other psychotropic meds given to kids with ASD for irritability, anxiety & adhd, self-restricted diet, poor hydration or low muscle tone.
