A member asked:

Can a painful thyroiditis attack cause a skin rash? attack was confirmed (rare) now i'm getting a rash on stomach and arms.

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Not common: Thyroiditis is not usually associated with a rash, but there are reasons why they could occur together. Antithyroid drugs often cause a rash. Subacute thyroiditis is often viral, and viruses can cause rashes. Urticaria/rash are sometimes associated with autoimmune diseases. Thyroid problems often cause dry skin, which can itch, provoke a rash.
