Chest pain: The lung itself should not hurt unless you are having pleurisy which is inflammation of the pleura ( lining) of the lung. Depending on your age , you have to make sure you are not having a heart attack, angina. If you have fever or chills and cough, you may have a pneumonia. A collapsed lung could cause pain but it is also associated with shortness of breath
