Any: physical illness, particularly requiring hospitalization can affect your menstrual cycle (possibly related to hormones released by stress) Things should return to normal in a few cycles....You should get your IRON checked (particularly if you had a lot of blood tests!) Iron deficiency can affect your menstrual flow. Hope this is helpful! Dr Z
