A member asked:

I am 11 weeks pregnant according the lmp. had ultrasound yesterday, baby is measuring 11w5d, the sac measures 10w5d. why the difference?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Ultrasound estimates: Ultrasound measurements are simply estimates of gestation age based upon norms of plus or minus two weeks. This is also true of gestational sac measurements of gestational age. Technology (ultrasounds) is marvelous for augmenting other parameters of gestational age, but are not "pinpoint gospels of truth".
