How can you get a diagnosis for mental health issues such as depression when a doctor has told you that you have it?

See a therapist: Depression may be treated by cognitive-behavioral therapy or with meds. See a therapist ASAP to determine the best course of treatment. Symptoms of depression include sleep and/or appetite disturbance, irritability, negativity, hopelessness, fatigue, lack of motivation, social isolation sadness, tears, low self-esteem, suicidal ideation (If this occurs, get help immediately).
