See below : To be on the safe side and rule out an infectious process, the first step is see an MD for a more detailed hx and exam including a urinalysis, urine culture, and STD screen (GC, Chlamydia). The intermittency and nature of your symptoms are suggestive of a non-bacterial, non-specific prostatitis. Exacerbated by stress, alcohol, caffeine, spicy and acidic foods, and change in ejaculation frequency.

Minor irritation: Minor irritation of the urethra at the tip of the penis. Sometimes a little discharge sticks the tip of the penis to the clothing. Sometimes a minor abrasion associated with sexual activity.

STD testing : You need a full medical history and sexual history along with physical exam. Burning of the urethra with urination requires a urinalysis and full STD testing in my opinion. No other way to rule out dangerous causes. Sexual partners need to be tested/treated as well. If any high risk sexual encounter tell your MD. If any purulent discharge associated with the burning see MD in urgent care or ER.
