Sarcoma: Assuming this was in soft tissue (muscle, tendon, nerve, fat) sarcomas are cancerous lesions which unfortunately have a significant recurrence rate. Recurrence depends on many factors--cell type, stage (aggressiveness), the surgery itself. Any surgical site with a recurrent lump as you describe requires prompt reevaluation. It may only be dense scar, but recurrence must be ruled out. See surgeon.

Could be many things: Could be scar, fluid collection or recurrent sarcoma. Need to see a sarcoma specialist.
