A member asked:

I was admitted to hospital in suspect of pe. d-diner was positive and abd shows low p02 9.33 and pc02 3.89. ct scan was clear. what does this mean??

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Not PE: If they did a chest CT with IV contrast specifically to look for PE, then you almost certainly do not have PE as this is the definitive test. A "positive" d-dimer is very non-specific. We often cannot explain exactly why that number is elevated.
