A doctor has provided 1 answer

See hematologist: High-normal mass of RBC. Polycythemia if over HCT 55. Polycythemia Vera is an important bone marrow disease. Slightly high levels from living at high altitude, chronic lung disease, other types of low oxygen states. Relative high RBC due to dehydration. Can also be high from "blood doping" transfusion or use of certain meds.
