Fighting infection: The most common reason to have recently enlarged lymph nodes is infection. It may be that you are fighting off infections that you are not even aware of. There are some other concerning things that can cause nodes to enlarge. These typically stay enlarged for several months, not just a few weeks. If you start having new symptoms or the nodes persist for months you should have them looked at.
