Loperimide?: Lop[erimide(Immodium) is used for diarrhea.Are you having diarrhea after surgery for Hernia.The question is not clear.What kind of Hernea you have.Is it inguinal,femoral or umblical and why you need substitute for loperimide.Please resubmit your question and we will be able to help you

Chronic diarrhea?: If you are having diarrhea a month or two in duration you should probably get it checked out, an internist or gastroenterologist would be appropriate. If the hernia is causing you pain would talk to a surgeon about repairing it.
