Chronic paronychia: Usually develops slowly, causing gradual swelling, tenderness and redness of the skin around the nails. Can be acute or chronic. Candida or other fungi are the cause. More common in diabetes, constant exposure to water or chemical solvents.; treatment with antifungal medication. Keep dry and clean. rubber gloves with an absorbent cotton .Don't cut cuticles , bite nails, Diabetes control.
