Amitriptyline: Amitriptyline is a useful drug but very common to get side-effects. The side-effects can improve after a few days for some people but not for everyone. If this is a new medication, ask your doctor if ok to start on 1/2 tab (5mg) instead of 10mg. Alternatively, nortriptyline is often better tolerated by people with persistent side-effects on amitriptyline.
