Allergic to alcohol?: Hard to say why it happened to both of you. More information would be needed. You could have gotten an allergic reaction to excess bacteria or chemicals in the beer. If it's happened to both of you before then I would suspect the beer. If you had chest congestion before drinking the beer then it's possible that the alcohol just set your congestion off worse.
