No arms BP: How can I take a blood pressure manually if my patient has both arms missing? ANS: I specialize in BP & do this. U can take in legs with appropriate size cuff. Use thigh cuff usually. Place patient supine and center cuff over back of mid thigh. Put stethoscope over back of knee & listen as usual. Keep leg flat. Remember BP in legs is > than arms by 30 mm Hg n some. take 3 readings. Average.

Legs: Level any appendage with the heart and use an appropriately sized cuff

Use legs: I would suggest using his legs (calfs). Securely wrap the blood pressure cuff around the calf, a few inches below the knees. Place the bell of the stethoscope under the blood pressure cuff, in the middle of the calf.
