Is it possible to get a blood clot in the buttock? my mom has pain and is diagnosed with polycythemia vera, so i fear this. her doc says it's lumbago.

P VERA: does NOT lead to blood clots (hematoma) in the buttocks..."Lumbago" or as it is more commonly known Sciatica..Is due to a BACK issue (pinched nerves/strained muscles) NOT the AMOUNT of Red Blood cells. (Poly (many)cythemia(blood cells) Hope this is helpful Dr Z
