Please suggest some important questions i can ask my doctor about sleep apnea.

Ask: Ask if your sleep problem can be treated by a psychologist or is related to sleep apnea.

What: What is sleep apnea? How i can diagnose and treat it?

Ask: Ask for a sleep study to rule out sleep apnea, especially if you weigh more than 200 lbs.

If: If you snore, ask your doctor about sleep apnea. Treating this condition improves and prolongs life.

Could: Could I have sleep apnea? "if you do, your chance of having high blood pressure is over 50%".

Ask: Ask for a home sleep study! now approved by most insurance plans (and much easier than going in)!

Can: Can you arrange a sleep study? Can you refer me to a sleep specialist or ENT doc for help?

Many: Many fps may have a home sleep test that you may be able to take home: $300 vs $2000 in a sleep lab!

How: How severe is it? What treatment options do you suggest?

ASK: Ask what kind of apnea, severity of apnea, CPAP vs autopap vs mouth guard.

What: What issues do I have that can be related, or made worse by sleep apnea?

What: What kind of sleep apnea i have, what is ahi and what is mine before treatment and after treatment.

Ask: Ask if weight loss will cure sleep apnea. It does. Ask how much weight you need too lose.

Ignore: Is sleep apnea dangerous? Is sleep apnea curable? Will i be married to treatment the rest of my life.

Ignore: What could be some symptoms that i might have it besides snoring?
