Cholesterol test: What can affect the results of a cholesterol test? ANS: time of day, diet for 3+ weeks before, blood drawn before you got out of bed?, family history, your medical history, medications you are taking. Age, gender, lab error, liver failure, acute glomerulonephritis and nephrotic syndrome, starvation, eating way too much fat, or not enough, BCP, thyroid disease, cancer, being too fat/skinny. Ask Dr.
