Eustachian tube: This is normal for post-nasal drip. Your ear canal is connected to the upper sinus cavities through something called the Eustachian tube. When your sinus drainage is thick, it can cover the opening. This isn't dangerous, but to help relieve this symptom, you can take allergy pills or a nasal decongestant such as Sudafed.
