Consider Changes: Buspar (buspirone) has few interactions with other medications and usually mild or no side effects. Alcohol is a powerful drug and combined with Buspar can be sedating. Also, alcohol has rebound withdrawal effects 18 to 24 hours after drinking causing nervousness relieved by more alcohol. Consider counseling & stopping all alcohol with higher doses of Buspar until anxiety relieved.
