Probable virus...: The most important thing in the short term is to make sure he remains well hydrated. As long as he is able and willing to drink fluids through this, that is one of the most important things. If he otherwise looks well, supportive care like this will allow his body to clear the virus. If he does not start improving in the next day or 2, or develops new symptoms (like vomiting), he should be seen.
