Not additional tests: Adults can get periodic screening for HIV, just like they get periodic screeing for colon cancer and high cholesterol. Just because a person gets blood on her hands does not mean additional testing is needed. Generally, if there is a high risk exposure to some contagious disease (one's primary care doctor can help define "high risk" after an incident), additional tests can be done.
