Floaters: Any new floaters that do not disappear within a few hours should be seen by an eye doctor. Occasionally, when a floater develops, it tears a small blood vessel in the back of the eye, causing the blood floater. It often disappears within a few weeks. However, it could be a sign of a more serious retinal problem and should be examined immediately.
