See doctor for plan: An active C. diff infection will not be effected by the antibiotics given, as these antibiotics do not work in the gut. The triple antibiotic therapy is a PPI, amoxicillin, and clarithromycin for 7-14 days. You could do the drug regimen suggested and add Flagyl for treatment of the C. diff prophylactically if you are known to be susceptible to the subsequent C. diff infection.

This will need to be: highly individualized. The riskiest antibiotics for c. diff are clindamycin, cephalosporins, amoxicillin, augmentin. Metronidazole, one of the components of the regimen for h. pylori, is safe; clarithromycin and tetracycline sort of middle of the road. Your doctor may emphasize the PPI, H2 blocker and bismuth (Pepto-Bismal) aspects of the several regimens available. Work closely with her/him.
