Complex Answer: Spondylitis refers to inflammation of the spine although the usage is loose and includes degenerative changes as well. As such one cannot have spondylitis in the shoulder. More likely, there is nerve pinching in the spine that is causing shoulder pain. The traditional route would be MRI and ortho/neuro consult. However, physiotherapy and exercise may be very valuable as well depending on severity.
