Shortened cervix: I am sorry to hear of your recent pregnancy loss. Since a cerclage was placed at 13 weeks, you either have a history of loss, or a shortened cervix. Common reasons for both are previous procedures on your cervix (LEEP, etc) or often times age. The older women get, the more likely they are to have a miscarriage. Ask your OB for an MFM referral before your next attempt at pregnancy.
