Rarely: Following gallbladder surgery, a small percent of people will come back with a recurrent "gallbladder-like" attack. This is usually due to a small stone that was hiding within the bile duct before surgery and can pass spontaneously or require non-surgical endoscopic removal. Even less frequently, people can develop new stones in their bile duct years after surgery, likewise treated as above.
