Gallbladder surgery: Or cholecystectomy in medical terms. Your symptoms will decide now when is the right time for surgery. If you have symptoms that are interfering with your activities of daily living that are believed to be due only to your gallbladder dysfunction talk to your surgeon about the right timing for an elective cholecystectomy. Otherwise, cholecystectomy should not cause weight gain, on a healthy diet.

Probably: If alternative explanations for their symptoms have been excluded, and if the gallbladder ejection fraction (GBEF) is reduced under %40 then it is predicted that these patients are likely to respond to cholecystectomy.
