The abdomen and intestines are layered with many different nerves, so much so that we call it the "second brain". When you are stressed, you can have diarrhea, or constipation, or a host of different changes to your bowel habits. However, if you are ever having bloody or or black colored stool, you should see your doctor as soon as possible.
